Invasive Species Invasive species are infiltrators that invade and cause harm to ecosystems beyond their historic range. Their invasion can threaten native ecosystems or commercial, agricultural, or recreational activities dependent on these ecosystems. They may even harm the health of humans. Human actions, both unintentional and intentional, are the primary means of invasive species introductions and spread to new locations. Below are just a few of the invasive species in our area, both plant and animal. Click on the picture or the links below to learn more about these species and more. Lean also what is being done to control the spread and the introduction of more invasive species to our waterways.
