Vessel Safety Checks (VSC)
For a FREE Vessel Safety Inspection Contact our
VE Officer
These examinations are provided to
any
boat owner wishing to have a
free, courtesy check of their boat's safety equipment. While
performing the Vessel Safety Check (VSC) or the Personal Water Craft
(PWC) Safety Check, Auxiliary Vessel Examiners conduct a "one-on-one"
educational session with the boat owner, providing the owner with an
opportunity to ask questions and obtain the latest information on safety
equipment and regulations (both NY State & Federal) which affect owners
of all types of craft (kayaks, canoes, fishing, pleasure, etc.). The VSC
and PWC Safety Checks are free examinations of your boat and safety
equipment by a qualified USCG Auxiliary Vessel Examiner. Results of an
annual examination only leads to issuance of a decal-sticker which
signifies your crafts compliance with regulations, or recommendations
for changes that would bring your vessel into compliance.
Do you have all the gear that your required to have on
your boat? Do you know what gear is not required but will save your
life? Obtain a vessel safety check and we will educate you about the
gear you need and the gear that would be great to have.
